United Nations Global compact
Itelyum adheres to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest strategic sustainability initiative. It was created to promote a global economy that respects human and labor rights, safeguards the environment, and fights corruption. Since its launch in 2000, over 18,000 companies from 161 countries have joined, alongside UN agencies, governments, civil society organizations, labor organizations, and other non-business entities, creating a unique global collaboration.
Itelyum is also a founding member of the Global Compact Network Italy, the organization that promotes its implementation in Italy.
The Global Compact commits companies and organizations to share, support, and apply within their sphere of influence a set of fundamental principles covering human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
Additionally, Itelyum supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ratified by the United Nations in 2015, which guide the actions of governments, civil society, stakeholders, and individuals, and serve as a reference for business and its partners.
Through its participation in the Global Compact, Itelyum commits to implementing, promoting, and disseminating the Ten Universal Principles, and to:
- Integrate the Global Compact and its principles into corporate strategies, organizational culture, and daily operations;
- Incorporate the Global Compact and its principles into decision-making processes, starting from the highest governance body;
- Support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
- Report annually and publicly on progress through the Sustainability Report;
- Promote the development of the Global Compact and responsible business practices through active support and awareness-raising among partners, clients, consumers, and all stakeholders.
