Itelyum accelerates growth: acquisition of Gisca Ecologia Srl

Landing in Sardinia for one of Italy’s leading players in industrial waste management and recovery

Milan, October 7, 2025 – Itelyum, one of the main Italian operators in the industrial waste management and recovery sector, extends its national presence with a new acquisition, taking over 100% of the share capital of Gisca Ecologica S.r.l.

With the acquisition of Gisca Ecologica S.r.l., founded in 1990, Itelyum enters Sardinia. The company, which operates two plants in Olbia and Sassari and serves around 2,700 clients, specializes in the collection and storage of waste oils (both mineral and vegetable) and other special waste.

The two sites cover a total area of over 5,000 m², with facilities, equipment, and personnel ensuring high-quality standards. Integration into Itelyum will allow Gisca’s clients to access a broader portfolio of environmental solutions, while Gisca, thanks to its excellent reputation and deep knowledge of the local area developed over more than thirty years of activity, will expand its operations across the island.

With this transaction, Itelyum now counts 55 operating companies in Italy and abroad. The Group continues to consolidate its growth and further expand its team, which now exceeds 1,800 people.

“The entry into Sardinia with Gisca Ecologica S.r.l. marks another important step in Itelyum’s growth strategy. We are proud to welcome into our family such a highly skilled team and a significant customer base, with whom we share our experience in industrial waste management in a safe, efficient, and sustainable way,” said Marco Codognola, CEO of Itelyum.

“We are very pleased to become part of a major group like Itelyum, which shares our same values of innovation, quality, and sustainability. Since 1990, Gisca Ecologica has grown to become Sardinia’s leading company in the collection, transport, and storage of special waste, expanding its activities over the years. This success has been made possible through the continuous improvement of our processes and a strong commitment to certification. Thanks to Itelyum, we will be able to further strengthen our presence in the region and offer our clients even more comprehensive and effective solutions,” commented Antonio Salaris, CEO of Gisca Ecologica.
