Milan, October 1, 2025 – Itelyum, one of the leading Italian and European players in industrial waste management, recycling, and environmental services, announces the acquisition of 100% of La Cart S.r.l., including its subsidiary Ferri & Oliva S.r.l.
Founded by the Lombardini family, La Cart is one of the main companies in the sector in Emilia-Romagna and the Marche regions. With operational sites in Rimini, Cesena, and Sogliano al Rubicone, and with the recently acquired Ferri & Oliva facilities in Fano, the company specializes in the collection, transport, storage, treatment, and recovery of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste.
In 2024, La Cart managed approximately 260,000 tons of waste, serving a diversified portfolio of over 2,000 industrial and commercial clients, including major national groups, to whom it also provides on-site handling and management services.
Together with its subsidiary Ferri & Oliva, La Cart employs around 140 people and operates a fleet of 50 vehicles authorized by the National Register of Environmental Managers, as well as about 2,000 bins and containers — ensuring efficiency, operational speed, and direct service to clients.
The integration into Itelyum will allow La Cart to fully express its strong growth potential — from material recovery and End-of-Waste (EoW) production to comprehensive waste management for its clients in synergy with the Itelyum Group — up to the development and construction of a new plant in Rimini, dedicated to the treatment of solid special waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous, and to the production of RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel).
This acquisition marks another step forward in the Group’s growth strategy, strengthening Itelyum’s position as a national leader capable of offering integrated solutions for every type of waste, hazardous and non-hazardous, through a single provider. With the addition of La Cart, the Itelyum Group now counts over 1,700 employees across 55 companies and 50 operational platforms in Italy and Europe. It also further consolidates its circular industrial model, integrating collection, transport, storage, treatment, recycling, and recovery within a widespread network of plants and services recognized as a European best practice.
This acquisition also reinforces Itelyum’s commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions and recycling high-quality materials destined for new industrial production. The Group already boasts a circularity index of 86%, manages over 2 million tons of waste per year, maximizing recycling, and avoided more than 516,000 tons of CO₂ emissions in 2024.
“The acquisition of La Cart is a key step in our growth and consolidation strategy as a national leader in environmental services and the circular economy. In addition to strengthening the infrastructure supporting the economic fabric of Emilia-Romagna, this operation expands the Group’s scope by adding services and management of non-hazardous and commercial waste to our offer for Italian companies that want to combine sustainability and competitiveness, entrusting their waste to integrated players who maximize value and resource recovery through technology,” said Marco Codognola, CEO of Itelyum.
“Becoming part of the Itelyum Group is an important milestone for us,” said Renzo Lombardini, Managing Director of La Cart. “We will continue to put our clients at the center, combining our experience and long-standing operational efficiency with the strength and innovation of a leading national and European group. This will allow us to offer increasingly comprehensive and sustainable solutions for the businesses in our region.”
