Bio-based products

ITELYUM pursues its mission also in the bio-based sector, with an ambitious goal: to transform biologically derived waste, such as used cooking oil, into a range of low environmental impact products (biofuels, biosolvents, biolubricants, and biobased soaps), while maintaining a short supply chain that minimizes waste transport and related emissions.

This approach makes it possible to achieve products with a carbon footprint up to 70% lower than traditional alternatives. Starting entirely from waste represents a technological challenge, requiring an innovative process capable of effectively purifying the incoming material before synthesis, thus ensuring high-quality standards regardless of input variability.

ITELYUM developed this process in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II, generating patents and actively contributing to scientific research by supporting the publication of specialized papers.
